Important: Chrome Extension Privacy
The Chrome Extension does NOT:
- Track your general browsing history
- Access videos without TouchPoint codes
- Collect personal data from non-TouchPoint videos
- Monitor keyboard input or form data
- Access your YouTube account credentials
Local vs. Server Storage:
- Stored Locally: Extension settings, preferences, and cached project data are stored in your browser's local storage and are not transmitted to our servers
- Transmitted to Servers: Engagement analytics (hotspot clicks, mouse movements, video interaction data) are sent to our servers to provide creators with analytics reports
1.4 Analytics and Tracking Data
For interactive videos created with TouchPoint Studio, we collect detailed engagement analytics to help creators understand viewer behavior:
- Hotspot Performance: Click rates, hover time, and engagement metrics for each interactive element
- Mouse Movement Heatmaps: Aggregated cursor position data to show attention patterns (sent in batches every 10 seconds)
- Timeline Tracking: Video playback position when interactions occur
- Viewer Demographics: General location data (country/region level only), device type, and browser
- Session Data: Duration, replay behavior, and drop-off points
1.5 Project and Content Data
When you use TouchPoint Studio to create interactive videos, we store:
- Video URLs and source information (YouTube, Vimeo, MP4)
- Hotspot configurations (position, timing, content, links)
- Design settings (colors, fonts, animations)
- Project files and assets uploaded by you
- Published project codes and embed settings
